SS Lazio Puma 2008-09 Home, Away, Third and Goalkeeper Kits / Jerseys

Back in June we brought you Tania Zamparo presentation of the the Lazio Rome Derby Puma 2008-09 Jersey. Now here are SS Lazio’s Puma home, away, third and goalkeeper kits for 2008-09. The third kit is the same as the Rome Derby kit. The team does not yet have a shirt sponsor for the 2008-09 Serie A campaign.

TORONTO — A penalty kick goal from hometown hero Dwayne De Rosario in the 69th minute proved to be the difference in an exciting 3-2 victory for the MLS All-Stars against West Ham United in the 13th annual Pepsi Major League Soccer All-Star Game.

The victory was the MLS side’s fourth in a row over international competition and improved their record to a perfect 5-0 overall since the MLS vs. the World format was first adopted in 2003. It also gives MLS a hat trick against London-based teams, as the All-Stars defeated Fulham and Chelsea in 2005 and 2006.

After Dean Ashton gave the English Premier League side a 26th-minute lead, Christian Gomez equalized not a minute later, set up by a terrific backheel from Cuauhtemoc Blanco. Blanco then put the MLS All-Stars ahead with a great goal of his own just before halftime, but Ashton brought West Ham on even terms again in the 67th minute, three minutes before De Rosario’s spot kick provided the victory.

Blanco, the Chicago Fire’s playmaker, was named the Volkswagen All-Star Game MVP, with a goal and an assist on the night.

Ajax Amsterdam adidas 2008-09 Away Kit / Jersey / Shirt

adidas and Ajax presented the new Ajax away kit today. The cool, two-toned blue shirt with white accents also has the Ajax logo ‘on the heart’.  New head sponsor AEGON is horizontally across the chest. The new Ajax away kit will first be woorn in the LG Amsterdam Tournament match against Arsenal FC, on Friday 8 August in the Amsterdam Arena. It appears to be based on adidas Toque template.

Steaua Bucharest Nike 2008-09 Home Kit / Jersey

FC Steaua Bucureşti is a Romanian professional football club from Ghencea, south-west Bucharest. They are the most successful Romanian football team ever in European competitions as well in the Romanian Liga I (23 championship wins).They became the first east European team to win the European Cup being victorious in 1986 European Cup final.

The team’s 2008-09 Nike home kit has small sticker on the inside of the collar, displaying a Christian cross on the club sign as UEFA forbiddens the religoius sign on garb and equipment. A fervent Orthodox beliver, George Becali, the owner of the Steaua Football Club, is well known for his religious extravagances as the displaying of huge crucifixes in the front of his palace in Bucharest or at the official entrance of the Ghencea Stadium as well as the pilgrimages at the Mount Athos prior to the important matches.

Liverpool John Moores University gives Gerrard honorary fellowship

England and Liverpool football player Steven Gerrard has been awarded an honorary fellowship by a Liverpool university.

The 28-year-old, who was awarded the MBE in 2007, was given the honour by Liverpool John Moores University.

It was given to mark the Anfield club captain’s contribution to sport.

Gerrard, who said he was proud to receive the honour, had his fellowship conferred during a graduation ceremony at the city’s Anglican Cathedral.
