Liverpool FC Adidas 2009/10 Away Kit / Jersey

Our leak was right. This is the Liverpool FC Adidas 2009/10 away kit! It appears to follow the same Adidas template as Ajax Amsterdam’s 2009/10 away kit and Seattle Sounders FC 2009/10 home kit.

The stylish phantom grey football shirt and shorts with gold trim will be worn by Steven Gerrard and his supporting cast at LFC on their travels during the 09/10 English Premier League season, while Pepe Reina will don a sleek yellow number. The new shirt also features a subtle Liver bird effect in the background.

This year’s advertising campaign focuses on Liverpool’s 12th man – so you’ll see a Kopite on all the billboards, videos and posters.

“It definitely looks the part,” said Jamie Carragher during the photo shoot for the shirt.

As well as Carragher, Torres and Kuyt, skipper Steven Gerrard, goalkeeper Pepe Reina and pass master Xabi Alonso were present.

The advertising strategy this year centres around our 12th man, meaning Anfield’s finest have to pose in the new kit with a fan. His name is Matthew Satrine.

The Kopite makes his living as an actor (he used to be in Scouse soap opera Brookside) and got the gig after singing You’ll Never Walk Alone at the audition.

Video: Nilmar's Wonder Goal for Internacional vs. Corinthians

Internacional striker Nilmar scored a contender for the Goal of the Year on Sunday as his team opened their Campeonato Brasileiro campaign against a Ronaldo-less Corinthians side with a 1-0 win.

The striker neatly collected a cross on the right wing of the field and in Maradona / Messi fashion proceeded to dribble his way through at least five stabbing Corinthians defenders to score the only goal of the game.

As a side note, Lazio have supposedly made €14 million bid for Nilmar. Expect to hear more about him in the future.

Celtic FC Nike 2009/10 International Kit / Jersey

Scottish Premier League giants Celtic FC have launched their Nike 2009/10 International kit. The kit is expected to be Celtic’s first choice strip for the club’s non-Scotland based games next season. Here’s a description of the new kit from the Celtic’s website.

The new International kit, out on June 12, is inspired by the club’s roots and heritage, and the pride the supporters feel in following their team to the four corners of the earth.

Central to the new strip is the Celtic tartan, which features on both the shoulder of the shirt, and in the shorts.

The tartan, in the club’s own pattern, represents the Scottish home of the current champions, and the colours of pine green, white and yellow gold reflects Celtic’s cherished Irish roots.

The lightweight performance Dri-Fit shirt, in classic, clean Football White features a Celtic tartan taping on the shoulder, to tie the design into the shorts, and the club crest over the left chest.

The shorts are the focal point of the kit. The all-over tartan print gives a striking aesthetic, and is sure to be a hit this summer as Celtic fans fly the flag for their club around the world.

The white socks feature a pine green hoop.

Fluminense FC Adidas 2009/10 Home and Away Kits / Camisas

Fluminense Football Club is a Rio de Janeiro, Brazil based soccer team. They are currently coached by former Brazil manager Carlos Alberto Parreira and campaign in the top tier of Brazilian football – the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.

Yesterday, Fluminense and global sportswear giant Adidas presented the club’s home and away kits for the 2009/10 season.

Thiago Neves and Tart are seen in the striped home shirt that is inspired by the 1984 Campeonato Brasileiro-winning Fluminense side. It appears to use the same Adidas template as the 2009/10 Newcastle United home kit.

Conca and Alan expertly modeled the away kit. This uniform is based on the on the club’s 1907 kit.
