Boca Juniors Nike 2008-09 Kits / Jerseys/ Camisetas

Posted by 5nil on August 10, 2008

During the upcoming season Boca’s players will use a new shirt model. It will be displayed for the first time this Sunday (August 10, 2008) in the match against Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy.

Nike’s new design incorporates the latest technology, combining two fabrics that will give the shirt an ultra-light quality, a better fit to the body and will afford easier breathing to its wearer. These technologies are the DYNAMIC-FIT with a pop-corn pattern used at the front of the shirt and a mesh fabric applied to its back.

The three stars representing the Intercontinental Cups won by the club have been kept and will appear at the back side of the neck. Like in previous jerseys the official shirt will feature in its interior the slogan “Every day I love you more”.

Its neck, sleeves and shorts will be striped in a contrasting color at their edges. But it is the new model of the substitute shirt that will surprise most. It features an innovative color combination – Obsidian (dark blue) with a shining yellow called Zest, whereas the official team jersey will come in the traditional colors – Obsidian with Pro Gold (the traditional yellow).

The short of the uniform is designed using a plane fabric with patches of mesh in the body’s critical parts which need more ventilation and feature contrasting colors.

Sebastián Battaglia donned the two models as a preview to the first display, so that they might be appreciated by all of Boca’s fans.

Results: Nigeria 2-1 Japan, Argentina 1-0 Australia, Brazil 5-0 New Zealand, Cameroon 1-0 Honduras, Netherlands 2-2 United States, China 0-2 Belgium, Serbia 2-4 Ivory Coast, Italy 3-0 South Korea

Captain Ronaldinho scored two goals in seven minutes to put Brazil through to the Olympic football quarter-finals during a 5-0 thrashing of New Zealand.

The AC Milan forward’s second-half strikes ensured the result after Manchester United midfielder Anderson opened the scoring after four minutes.

Alexandre Pato netted the second shortly after, before Rafael Sobis’s goal capped the rout late on.

The South Americans are now top of Group C with six points from two games.

In the other Group C game there was bad news for China , who were seeking a win after drawing with New Zealand in their first game.

They lost 2-0 to Belgium after having two men sent-off, Moussa Dembele and Kevin Mirallas scored a goal in each half for the Europeans to leave them second in the group.

China defender Tan Wangsong was red-carded in the 52nd for a vicious foul and midfielder Zheng Zhi was sent for an early bath shortly after for elbowing an opponent.

The hosts now need to beat leaders Brazil in their last group match to have any chance of advancing.

Argentina maintained their perfect record to guarantee progression from Group A with a 1-0 win over Australia courtesy of a goal 14 minutes from time from Napoli’s Ezequiel Lavezzi .

Barcelona star Lionel Messi was the driving force as Argentina upped their bid to win back-to-back Olympic gold medals.

Elsewhere in Group A, Ivory Coast had Slobodan Rajkovic to thank for an own goal that contributed to a 4-2 win over Serbia for the Africans.

Sekou Cisse, Salomon Kalou and Gervinho got the other goals for the Elephants while Miljan Mradkovic and Djordje Rakic were on target for Serbia.

It was the first points the Ivorians have picked up in Beijing and leaves them second in the table.

Meanwhile, in Tianjin, Nigeria survived a late scare to secure all three points with a 2-1 win against Japan in Group B.

Victor Obinna Nsofor scored Nigeria’s first of the tournament when he pounced on a beautiful passing move on 57 minutes, slotting Odemwingie’s clever flick into the right-hand side of the goal.

Everton’s Victor Anichebe came on as a substitute in the second half and soon doubled the lead.

But just as Nigeria seemed to be easing to victory a defensive lapse allowed Yohei Toyoda to hit back for Japan, setting up a nervy final ten minutes.

In Group B’s other game, Liverpool’s Ryan Babel fired in a rebound from his own header against the United States to put the Netherlands ahead in what ended as a 2-2 draw.

The Americans were rewarded for their endeavour when Freddy Adu played in Sacha Kljestan who scampered through to shoot under Netherlands’ goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer.

The turnaround was complete when substitute 18-year-old Jozy Altidore turned a hard-hit cross from Michael Orozco into the goal with almost his first touch of the game.

With time running out Gerald Sibon rescued a point for the side in orange when he fired in a powerful daisy-cutter free kick.

Italy have qualified for the men’s Olympic football tournament a record 15 times and booked their place in the knockout stage with a 3-0 win over South Korea.

Giuseppe Rossi, Tommaso Rocchi scored in the first half while Riccardo Montolivo registered late on to ensure the score line reflected their domination. The win gives Italy six points and assures it one of the top two spots in Group D.

Meanwhile, Rennes midfielder Stephane Mbia gave Cameroon a 1-0 victory over Honduras , keeping alive the African team’s chances of progressing from Group D.

Despite a poor first period, it was Cameroon, who won gold at the Sydney Games in 2000, who started to dominate.

The pressure paid off when Mbia hit a low right-footed drive past the outstretched arms of Honduran goalkeeper Kevin Hernandez after 74 minutes to seal victory.

The win gives Cameroon four points and keeps quarter-final ambitions alive heading into their final Group D match against Italy.
