Video: Chelsea FC 7 – Chengdu Blades 0

July 26, 2008, MACAU, China: Joe Cole scored two goals to help Chelsea rout the Chengdu Blades 7-0 Saturday and stay undefeated in its three-game Asian preseason tour.

Nicolas Anelka gave the Premier League club the lead in the 15th minute after dribbling past Chengdu goalkeeper Lan Yi inside the penalty area. Anelka then set up Salomon Kalou for the second goal in the 31st, before Lampard made it 3-0 with a shot from inside the area in the 38th.

Cole then beat Lan in the 55th for his first goal before Franco Di Santo continued the rout with a shot from just outside the box in the 66th after the Chengdu defense failed to clear the ball.

Cole added his second in the 82nd to make it 6-0 after a pass from Michael Essien, while Shaun Wright-Phillips unintentionally deflected a cross from Florent Malouda in the 84th minute for the final goal.

Lionel Messi to be the face of Pro Evolution Soccer 2009

Konami has announced that Barcelona and Argentina forward, Lionel Messi, will be the face of Pro Evolution Soccer 2009.

The game will be coming out on the most formats (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS2, PSP and even some mobile phones) in the autumn, with the Wii version following in spring 2009.

Here are a few newly released images and a Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 HD trailer featuring the PS3 rendition of Lionel Messi. Word on the street is that the a PS3-created version of the player will be with FC Barcelona while the “new Maradona” is off at the Olympics with the Argentina football team.

Argentinos Juniors and Club Atlético Tigre Diadora 2008-09 Home, Away and Third Kits / Jerseys / Camisetas

Diadora presented the home and away kits for Argentine Primera Division teams Argentinos Juniors and Club Atlético Tigre during a reception at the Buenos Aires Hilton on July 30, 2008. Argentinos Juniors is known for being Diego Maradona’s first top flight club.

La presentación realizada anoche en el Hotel Hilton, con la conducción de Guillermo Mazzuca, convocó a más de 350 asistentes entre los que se destacaban figuras de Argentinos como su presidente, Luis Segura, y los futbolistas Matías Caruzzo, Néstor Ortigoza, Rodrigo Díaz, Andrés Scotti y Gabriel Peñalba, así como la gente de Tigre, encabezada por su presidente, Luis San Andrés, así como su entrenador, Diego Cagna, y los jugadores Juan Carlos Blengio, Daniel Islas, Carlos Luna y Pablo Jerez. Crewe Alexandra Lotto 2008-09 Home Kit / Jersey

Crewe Alexandra’s new home strip went on sale on Thursday 31st July at 9am. Italian manufactures Lotto will the club’s official kit supplier for the forthcoming season. They will provide the new home and away kits, training gear and leisure wear.

The new home kit will be worn for the first time during tomorrow’s friendly with Hull City.

New signing Joel Grant has modelled the new home kit and told us: “I think the new kit is very nice. The material and the quality of the shirt is good and it is very fitted which Lotto strips always tend to be.

“I think it is really nice and I like it. I hope I will get the chance to wear it on Saturday against Hull City for the first time.”
