Athletic Bilbao Umbro 2009/10 Kits / Camisetas

Posted by 5nil on July 8, 2009

2009 Spanish Copa del Rey finalists Athletic Club de Bilbao have presented their Umbro home and away kits for the 2009/10 Spanish La Liga season.

This follows a period of hype from Umbro under with the theme Hello! We are Football. The pre-release marketing campaign included a website (www.hellowearefootball.com) that featured teasers of Athletic Bilbao’s 09/10 kits.

The Athletic Club de Bilbao Umbro 09/10 home kit appears to use the same Umbro design as the Hearts home kit while the  away kit appears to use the same template as the new Swansea City home kit.

Video: Juventus Nike 2009/10 Home and Away Kits / Maglie

Posted by 5nil on July 8, 2009

Here are the freshly unveiled Juventus home and away Nike kits for 2009/10 Serie A season. Amauri, Trezeguet, Del Piero and the rest of the team will wear these strips as they try to reclaim the Serie A title next season.

Once again, it looks like retro is the way to go for Nike. The n 09/10 away kit is definitely different from anything we’ve ever seen Juve wear before but it seems to work in an odd almost South American camiseta way.

Also included below is a video from the official Juventus kit presentation held earlier today.  Our leak was right!

Here’s the spiel on the new kit from Juventus’ English language site:

On the eve of the team’s departure to the summer camp in Pinzolo, the new jerseys for the 2009-2010 season were launched. The event, organized at the OGR (Officine Grandi Riparazioni), a suggestive location in the centre of Turin, saw the participation of general manager Jean-Claude Blanc and coach Ciro Ferrara while the jerseys were worn by the protagonists: Manninger, Amauri, Diego and Sissoko. Nike Italia was represented by general manager Andrea Rossi who illustrated the innovations especially with regards to the second or away jersey.

Both jerseys refer to the history of the club. The first jersey, in particular, has narrower black and white stripes and brings to mind the jersey worn by the protagonists of the Quinquennio (1930-1935) when Juventus on 5 consecutive scudetti. The shorts are white with a lateral black and white stripe while the socks, white too, have a subtle black line with “Juventus” printed on the calf.

The second jersey is the true novelty for the season. Built around the famous sentence pronounced by Giovanni Agnelli before the Champions League final against Ajax in 1996 («If they are a team of Flemish painters we will be tough Piemontese») these are the innovations: a jersey the colour of steel with a black and white line in front. The shorts are black with a lateral line of the same colour. The socks are black with Juventus written in grey on the calf.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen Adidas 2009/10 Away Kit / Trikot

Posted by 5nil on July 8, 2009

Popular German Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen (commonly called Bayer Leverkusen ) have launched their Adidas 2009/10 away kit.

Some of you might be familiar with kit design as it was used by a number of teams during the 2008/09 season. These included the Houston Dynamo of MLS and English Football League Championship sides Plymouth Argyle and Derby County.

According to Bayer Leverkusen’s website:

The basic colour is white, the sponsor’s lettering TelDaFax Energy is a bright red and the shirt has a yellow trim. Bayer 04 will play most of their games on the road in white in the coming season. Werkself keeper René Adler and midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta launched the kit on Tuesday with 150 fans in attendance at the Bayer 04 shop in Leverkusen-Wiesdorf.

Bayer 04 replace their kit every two years and after the first season with the new home kit it is time for a change on the road. The kit supplier adidas presented a number of suggested designs for sporting director Rudi Völler and the team to choose from. “The previous away kit was my favourite kit and was very popular. But I really like the new one because it is attractive, relaxed and bright. The yellow trim is a new departure,” said Bayer 04 managing director Wolfgang Holzhäuser.

After the official launch on Tuesday, the kit will be worn by the Werkself for the first time on Wednesday night for the friendly against Al Ahly Cairo in Wattenscheid (17.00 CET). The colours were also well-received by midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta: “It’s really great. White looks really good and it felt good when I wore it. We’ll be in the new kit for the friendly in Wattenscheid and we’ll be looking to celebrate our first win wearing it.”
